I don't know about you guys but even if I mark them as unread sometimes I forget to go into my inbox and reply.
This would just be a reminder to check your PM by having it show that you have a new PM with the standard inbox highlight as shown in the picture.
Should also be an option to turn this on/off in settings. "Mark as unread shows as new PM" or something along those lines.

Maybe the mods are in their inboxes enough for this to not he useful but still going to propose it.

I would like this to show if i mark something as unread inside my inbox.

This is how email functions in modern mail applications including gmail, outlook.com and outlook desktop application. While you may have an alert, or a toast that is closeable, you would still have the email client itself showing an unread item in the UX. Voted yes, this is how I would have expected the indication/count of messages to display.


Might be different for the super users, or d2jsp staff that get 1000 messages a week, but 100% agree this was my expectations.
