Looking at the Legion 5 and my question is regarding the GPU

I can have one shipped tomorrow with a 3050ti
Or
Wait 2-4 months for the same product to ship with a 3060 or an RX 6600m
Price doesn’t matter in the case

I would primarily be playing D2r but should occasionally play shooters like apex or warzone

Is the difference between the 3050ti and the 3060/6600m that drastic where it would be worth waiting the 2-4 months for it to ship?

Cheers

Yup, 3050ti is far too weak, it'll be fine for d2r but not really for apex n stuff unless u don't mind bringing the settings down low.

Make sure you sign up for rakuten and get cashback for ur purchase through Lenovo. It's like 8 to 10% cash back. 14% on Valentine's day. We talking couple hundreds back.

If u don't wanna wait that long, u can also get it from ebey

Good choice going with a Legion 5 laptop, they are well built and good for the money.

A GTX 3050 ti will play D2R good at 1080p, it will handle Warzone and Apex fine as well. Personally I'd spend a little more and buy the 3060 model.
Have you considered "used" from FB marketplace or Ebay? It's really not a bad choice. You can get a basically brand new 3060 laptop for 3050 ti price or better.
Even something like a second hand 2060 laptop would be great. Its on par with a 3050ti but has more vram. You can find these for a steal.

Here is a GREAT option for the price. I've personally owned one of these new Dell G15 laptops. RTX 3060 and other great specs for only 1049$, good luck beating that. The G15 has a high wattage 3060 like the Legion 5 would.

Yea I was actually considering this exact dell

My only reservations were the 120hz screen. I watched several videos that had some bad reviews on the 120 models. If I upgrade to the 165 screen I’m paying the exact same as the legion 5, which id rather over the Dell.

Could have just been bias of the persons giving the reviews.
I may just be over thinking things

Thoughts?

Thanks for the input!!

It’s probably not the nicest laptop screen ever but for the price of the laptop I’m sure it’s great. You’re using a 3060 mobile so you won’t see over 120 in most big titles anyways. Past 120 is a waste

Appreciate the insight

Would you be wary of refurbished products?

Definitely not. I've bought a lot of refurb items over the years without an issue. Id say it largely depends on the company selling the refurb item.
