Want it for d2r on the go.

I just think what I want is

16ram
512 hd
3060 gpu
130w ?

Should I get a m15 r6 or x15?

Should I aim for 17 inch screen 4k resolution?

Doesn’t have to god tier but don’t want shit tier either
Look decent/good and perform well

16gb Ram is good
3060 sounds like a perfect fit (keeping in mind that laptops with top tier GPUs can end up thermal throttling)
512 is sufficient for d2R and some other games, I'd recommend 1TB SSD but it might not be necessary

Between the M15 and x15 it looks like thickness is the main difference (?) I'm not familiar with Alienware laptops but if the x15 is slimmer and portability is high on your priority list I would say that's worth it

4k is probably overkill, the 3060 won't be able to game at 4k anyways

So is splurging for a 3060 on a laptop even necessary?

Also I don’t need a thin one would prefer one that is better on the battery and other parts not heating up excessive and such

and Stick with a 1080p?

I think the 3060 is a fantastic laptop card, especially if you're primarily using it as a laptop (as opposed to outputting to a different monitor/TV)

Again, not familiar with these Alienware trims specifically but you can find comparisons between the two and decide which fits your use-case

If you have a choice for screen I love 1440p 144hz screens. I think it's a great balance of resolution and speed. A 3060 will likely not be able to pump out 144fps at 1440 resolution but it gives you some room to play with:
- D2R gets full resolution at a lower framerate
- you decide to jump into a shooter so you lower your graphics in favor of 144fps framerate

All in all you were heading in the right direction before you posted, I think you're going to love this.

Did you have a specific budget in mind? That might also push you in one direction or another

Trying to keep around 1k-1500 max

But I know it’s only for d2r and I guess watching tv / YouTube from time to time so I don’t need to break the bank

Honestly if you want to save a bit of money 1080 is fine for a laptop

What about the legion 5 with the 3050ti?

It’s not that much more expensive to get the 3060 compared to the 3050ti
But the 3060 version will take 3-4 months to ship (according to the website) where as the 3050ti ships in 3 business days.

Sorry Duckling for hijacking your thread

I have the exact same questions as you lol

I personally think 15" screen will help you better on the go. Longer battery life

16gb ram
3060 rtx
15"

For d2r that's more than enough of everything you need

Also good enough for AAA action games

I use tuf gaming Asus

Another good option nitro 5

Can get all this for 1500$us or canadian
