Like I said, my thought process behind this isn't to replace mediators or even prevent scamming.
Even if it weren’t for that, it could and most likely would still lead people the wrong way. For example, if a group of trolls/friends fraudulently rated each other great but in order to persuade someone to trade with them for scamming purposes.
E/ I could just see how it would unintentionally lead people the wrong way.
