It probably won't replace act 2 Merc as meta, but act 3 mercs will now autocast enchant on all your minions.

With enough +skill gear on him, this will add a lot of damage/ar to melee skeles

I really want to test a fishymancer with a3 merc using HoJ , the new fire helmet RW and dual dragon plus infinity iron golem 😈

Yeah You still lose Might aura for Skellies if you do that, I dont see how enchant would be better at all.

What Id like to see are the numbers for the new skellies vs the old skellies damage but im too lazy to test and calculate.

Most of enchant damage is added from fire mastery, wich a3 mercs doesn't have.
An with infinity on your merc you don't need attack rating.

Still will be crap. By design it's crap cuz you can't easily select the element. Based on the wording and dev comments it really doesn't sound like it'll do enough dmg to be viable even for a crappy niche build.

If they had tripled fire mage damage and then upped every other element to do comparable damage to fire mages, then they might become viable.
Because at the moment, with Fanat + Might + Conv an army of normal skellies does more than 3 times as much dps as an army of mages with Conv.
I really hope the mage damage is going to be scaled up a lot. Even with the suggested changes it's just not going to be worth sinking 19 hard points in to...

I am curious how much damage Fire golem is going to do. With the Holy Fire buff he might actually slap. Probably still not going to be worth using over IG though :(

We need proper calculations to be sure but I doubt its going to be much as well. They also upped their life to 10% but even that is not enough, they melt.

16 mages doing ~600 dmg each with conv and lower res can deal a lot of dmg
We’re looking at around 20k dps from mages only
Theyre also more tanky, and with flickering flame theyre all immune to what was killing them most of the time : fire aoe spells

On paper it looks nice, but it suffers the same problem as melee skeletons. They attack really slowly. A lot of their attacks are also wasted cuz the attack animations are so slow. Also zero aoe...single target pvm is pretty terrible 😔
