Who is to say that isn't how you play and it should be online for the sake of counting tho :p

 with that said, I won't have any complaints, but I am sure a "true" count would be those that are playing at least a full hour with say 5 minute intervals?

Basically I can go to sleep for 8 hours and still be online in game on my PC, not sure about the Phone users that get DC'd within 90+ seconds and look like they are online, but you enter the game and they are NOT actually online because you see their character name in Red and has a Strikethrough across the name, then you type /who xxxx and they are NOT online?

Hmm, something fishing there, considering when you join that game and their character name is Red / Strikethrough, you have the lead, and when you explore the catacombs, the monster spawn max is that of two(2) people in the game, even though they are NOT online. ... Hmm

So, what say you to the other person (group member/game creator) in the game that is OFFLINE?

If the game houses a player even in red I would consider that logged to some extent I assume it would be counted simply because he exists on game to some extent.

Maybe.

Okay... I think you missed the point of my post and the last word in the paragraph:

Now, how do I know that character is OFFLINE, simple, I press Enter, type /who (character name) and press enter... the response says that that character is OFFLINE... so, that means that character is OFFLINE.

You get that?

Ahh yes that probably wouldn't count.
But the real question should be, how does the site track online players for it's current counting system and then apply the same method.
I would assume it's based on a 15 min time frame or something kf afk time then it counts you as offline.
