I had same problem and found if I clos3 battle.net app and cntrl alt delete the background battle.net apps, the lag goes away

Going to the game being on an nvme ssd is notably faster loading than even a sata ssd.

wtf this 100% worked as long as you stay in the same act. went from 5-10 seconds to <2.

d2r installed in a HDD... all smooth. no loadgames more than 2segs... only first time u launch game...
