Looking to upgrade my pc a little bit if its worth to.
Need your wisdom with this if possible! :) my knowledge is almost non-existent with bulding pcs or even upgrading.

If any information is missing let me know, so i can edit please.

OS: Microsoft windows 10 pro
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K @ 3.40 GHZ 4 cores
Motherboard: ASRock z77 Pro3
GPU: MSI Nvidia Geforce gtx 1060 6 GB
SSD: Samsung 120 GB
HDD: 1 TB
RAM: 8 GB ( i think its 2x 4 GB have to check if required )
Cpu cooler: ( not sure how to find out )
Power supply: 650w i think ( not sure how to find out proper name )

was purchased around 6-7 years ago, was pre-built with gtx 660 ti, around 2-3 years ago i purchased the gtx 1060 6 gb as an upgrade.
currently only playing: D2R, Black desert online, may play more if it runs smoother.

not sure what kind of upgrade would be good here.
was tending to upgrading the RAM to 16 GB instead of 8 ( maybe even 32 if it worth? not sure )
also would like to upgrade the 120 GB of SSD into at least 500 GB or 1 TB, because playing D2R installed on my HDD takes years of loading screentime..

very glad for any help guys really! thanks for reading :)

maybe just add 2x4 gb more if ur mobo has slots. also your mobo isnt ddr4 compatible.

also if u keep ur mobo u cant use m2 ssd's, but a regular one is fine. samsung, crucial, or w/e you like.

- 4 x DDR3 DIMM slots
- Supports DDR3 2800+(OC)/2400(OC)/2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Max. capacity of system memory: 32GB*

your motherboard can only handle this

so i would find some new sticks of 1600 ddr3

pretty cheap to max out the ram capabilities of that motherboard* you can only have 32gb max and you should use the same sticks for all 4 slots if you should choose.. but running two sticks is fine as long as they are same speeds and type

that motherboard does NOT have a m2 nvme slot

you would need somthing like this to add it to the board..
which would STILL be faster than the current 1tb hdd, or you could upgrade the ssd or ad a second ssd to the setup you have for more space..

setting up that pci adapter is fairly easy.. you buy something like that plus the m2 nvme2 drive
slap the nvme2 drive into that holder then place the pci adapter into the pc

thanks so much for the input!

would this ram work without compatibility issues? costs around 62€ in germany for 2x 8 gb sticks

https://www.amazon.com/Patriot-PV316G160C9K-Arbeitsspeicher-1600MHz-DDR3-RAM/dp/B008LTJJJ0/ref=sr_1_10?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=9N68V1J0LMCJ&keywords=ram%2Bddr3&qid=1642405996&sprefix=ram%2Bddr3%2Caps%2C151&sr=8-10&th=1&language=en_US

they wrote in the description that its optimal for intel 6-7-8 series, not sure if that would do any issues with my intel i5 3570k?

also cant decide between samsung 870 evo 500 gb ssd ( 66€ )
or
Crucial BX500 CT480BX500SSD1 480GB ssd ( 45,89€ )

want to install OS windows 10 on the ssd and mainly install games on it :)
if the samsung is better i dont mind spending 20 more bucks, or rather get 1 TB and be done with it?

edit: if samsung then QVO or EVO?

QVO is cheapest

I went with a QVO 8TB drive for data/games.

You can probs find 1 TB SSDs for less than $115 now. I'd recommend a 1 TB OS drive in case you end up installing huge work suites like Adobe or Office.

Random 16 GB ram will be fine for your PC. Your PC overall is a bit dated though. The biggest performance improvement will be SSD + RAM upgrade.

Otherwise you need to basically build a new PC.

thanks alot for the input :)
for now i think ssd + ram will be enough, maybe in a few years ill build a complete new one :)

what is the difference between QVO and Evo? is it worth to spend 20€-50€ more on the EVO or just stick with QVO?
im mainly using the PC for gaming, browsing, and maybe to do the homework @ university

did post a few parts up there, are they fine?
