Again the utility value of putting a ball into a hoop is nearly meaningless. The only reason the “company” pays these players so much is because they are a vehicle to advertise sugar water, fast food, and beer to low IQ people
You can't be serious?
The only reason companies want to advertise during those games is because so many viewers are watching for the game itself. Advertisements are feeding off of "guys putting a ball in a hoop", not vice versa lol. The source of attention is on the game, those players, and the advertisements just piggy back off of that.
The NBA is a business that generates over $8 BILLION a year because of those players putting a ball in a hoop. They're one of the select few (a few hundred in a world with 7.9 billion BILLION people) good enough to play for a company to help them generate that kind of money. They are paid fairly based on what they contribute to their company.
Teaching is a respectable job, just like nurses, police, military, etc. All respected professions and necessary in society, but they're dime a dozen and can easily be replaced with someone that contributes just as much.
