Looking to buy a laptop that'll run d2r PvP without issues. I'm thinking an alienware laptop from Best Buy but open to suggestions

Price range $1,000-$2,500

don't get alienware. they are way overpriced for what you get. basically you'll end up paying 3k for the same hardware as a 2k laptop of another brand just cause there is an alien on it.

specs matter more than name, brand.

Also, Minimally? mid range? or $$$ who cares?
Do a little research on:

Dedicated graphics card vs Integrated. - you probably want dedicated. This is one of the parts that really dictates price. A Modest is fine, high end is noticeable but also costly. Top tier only needed if doing a lot of visual work, animation, etc...
RAM 8 - 16 gb ?? - you can nerd out here.. but you don't really need to. Going really big isn't that important. - Unless you edit video or something like that.
processor - This is worth nerding out over. There are a lot of details here.

THose are the most important. The rest is mostly extras; Ports, additional capabilities. etc...

having a light understanding of those will give you enough knowledge to understand what the difference between the salesperson offers.

My brother recently talked about his new laptop purchase. He ended up getting one that was considerably more expensive than an alternative because it had more ram... The Other option was nearly equivalent. I Didn't tell him this.. His the laptop IS Impressive, but he just could have saved a few hundred.
