Got a 07 stang with shaker 500 8" door subs.
Want to swap out the factory subs.
Having issues cause of shallow mounting depth.

I tried a set of MB Quart DS1-204 8 inch shallow mount
Would not fit.
Well, they would fit but magnet was too large.

Any suggestions?

Edit: the main issue is it has a small area for the magnet, not the total depth.
Also, the factory subs screw into door panel through the back by magnet.
Dont know if that matters.

I believe those to be midwoofers not subwoofers. they just put a LPF on them to make them pseudosubs i think.

doubt any real subwoofer is going to fit.

i forget...is the slot free air or enclosed like a box for these?

okay so theres gonna be a hard physical limit right there.

most shallow mount subwoofers tend to be wide and bulky due to the magnet structure and because subwoofers use large magnets in general.

look into midwoofers would be my suggestion. you adding a new amp or just trying to toss in new speakers? might have compatibility issues with aftermarket speakers and factory amp.

Forgot this gave me a vpn warning and didn't post my reply lol.

anyways....

i'd look into midwoofers/mid-range woofers whichever name you find them under.

then tune out the highs on the amp and run them on the low end frequencies.
