so i got hardware above the requirements for the game but meh the loading screens etc are still ridiculous, even if i have all settings set to low and limit framerate to 40 frames.

theres this guy that came into my chaos run and he could legit host me at the start of the game and ALSO take the wp before i did, while this shit usually had like a 10 second cooldown to take the wp after host.

specs are:
gtx 1660 super
intel i5 10400F 2.90
8 GB ram
SSD where i have D2R installed

so even tho all my settings are insanely low it still runs somewhat meh

any tips or recommendations what settings to change or what to do? alrdy updated my graphics drivers and optimized the game

i feel like it's mainly my RAM just absolutely filling up every time something happens

my GPU, CPU etc are all fine and running pretty low, while my RAM is constantly over 7.0 gb / 8 gb and D2R is actually using over 5 GB ram for me nonstop

any way to tone down the RAM usage a bit? or should i just upgrade my RAM

I don't think it's your problem, might be the "lucky" like me having the vram/ram bug problem !

Tested on a laptop with 16 gb ddr works fine, no problem on waiting joining games or entering portals (d2r eats 2,4 gb) but on my PC with 32 gb ddr my d2r eats 11 gb of ram and it takes 20 - 40 sec to join a game and 10 - 20 sec to enter portals

edit : You can try this, might work

1. First, go to your in-game settings
2. Turn on Vertical Sync
3. Diablo 2 Resurrected - Vertical Sync Setting
4. Set Framerate Cap to 60
5. Diablo 2 Resurrected - Framerate Cap setting
6. Now save your settings and restart the game
7. Start playing the game again
8. Use a performance monitoring utility and check the GPU usage and temperature, while you are at it
9. If you notice that your GPU usage has come down, and your GPU temperature is below 75. Then you don’t need to do anything else
10. If you see that the problem still persists, then
11. Open Nvidia Control Panel(For Nvidia users), and select Manage 3D settings from the left side
12. Click on the Program Settings tab
13. Add Diablo 2 Resurrected from the list of programs under ‘Select a program to customize:’
14. If you do not see Diablo 2 on the list, then you need to add the .exe file manually. Which in this case is d2r.exe
15. Once it is added, the settings below should become available for the game
16. Look for the ‘Max Frame Rate‘ setting, turn it on, and set the limit to 60 fps
17. Now, look for the ‘CUDA – GPUs‘ setting, select your dedicated GPU there, if it is set to ‘Use global setting (All)’ by default
18. Finally, look for the ‘OpenGL rendering GPU’ setting, and select your dedicated GPU there also
19. Apply the settings
20. AMD users can use the Radeon Software to do something similar

thanks mate, also how are u :D long time no see

i'll give this a go and get back to you

also i did order some extra RAM since it was just 39 bucks and 16 GB is pretty nice to have anyway, 8 GB felt a bit low for most uses anyway :)

i noticed d2 taking up 4-5 GB ram and firefox also wants some of that juicy juicy ram so might aswell add some more since i don't wanna be forced to close my browser if i wanna play a game xD

ah damnit servers seem too busy, i'll give it a try later.

Way worse GPU, it saddens me to hear you guys with a much more expensive GPU have this problem too.
