It takes a little time to get started and up running if you are starting from scratch. So it's hard to tell how long it will take.
But as long as you put some time into it, you will level up pretty quickly and be able to receive a lot of materials.
There is quite a bit of guides on Youtube that you can check out and follow on how to progress, finding materials, etc.
