Same reason I can't give poe HC a legitimate go imo... d2r is running like a twice baked potato that's been chilled in the morning frost on ps4. Yes ps4 is already obsolete, but it's also designed for running games and has a universal set of hardware for blizzard to program for... if I could run 3-4+ clients using separate user accounts in windows xp (aka rough on resources but technically was acceptable/wouldn't be banned) on a machine with 2/3rds or worse specs....
They're working off code that they probably don't fully understand because it was written 20 years ago and the original devs are long gone. There's major bugs that got patched throughout d2 bnet, but like truly game breaking bugs that the team working on it clearly has no clue of the code or how the game plays.
Amazon dodge skills (basically 1 of her 3 trees) = same crazy old bug that locks you so you can't even TP. Same thing with miss aim WW, or frenzy and zeal somehow not usable whatsoever on console. Assassin, fade makes shrines, bo, chant etc last like 10 seconds.
But they make sure to get rid of eth bug armor recipe, while leaving in pindleskin fe bug? Or did they? Lister nightmare trav fe bugs? You find out, I know that the pit viper poison bug is still there... so what random huge bugs are on the list for them? Clay golem true town pk with a1 archer? Ya that works, what about the various dupe methods of meteor, bonewall, chance on strike etc bladefury spam dupes?
D2r they made a cash grab and got away with it, better spec consoles run the game like trash and it's ridiculously buggy. That's why d4 will be a thing, there's like 0 communication for d2r, they already dgaf about it. I'll probably buy d4, I shouldn't because of what blizzard has become, but I already know I will. Just hope it's as good as a d2 remake could have been
...he'll I'd go poe if they didn't have so many 1 shot game mechanics and yt videos of 20k+ gaming rigs struggling to run it.
