It's actually very, very good that you brought this up because this ties into exactly how Communism begins and why many are so vocal in current day.

Amazon took no hits at all during the COVID situation and is still fulfilling same and next-day deliveries while so many other businesses (with the incorrect politics / small business which is the true epitome of freedom and biggest threat to Communism) struggle to this day under constant regulation that is squeezing many so tightly they are closing their doors.

Joe Biden ran on making the rich pay their fair share. The richest man in arguably the world certainly isn't losing any money in the process or paying more in taxes. Neither is Bill Gates, MSM anchors or anyone else with the correct politics. Elon Musk challenges the establishment and suddenly he's more of a tax evader than the guy who is worth multiples of him (he used to be praised by these same people, remember?). Does that make logical sense?

That's the foundation of a Communist society - the "friends" of the leader with the correct politics get to profit while the rest get a pre-determined amount with no economic mobility. You'd just need to look at China and the CCP for a great example.

For a good view of a current trial run, take a look at the US state of CA. It's not pretty at all.

More to the point, you can't have a system where Jeff Bezos simultaneously creates trillion dollar companies and one where governments routinely seize the entirety of his assets.
