I've not played Poe before and it's not something I'd like to play long term.

However I would like to make some quick fg.How should I go about it?

You won't, need a lot of game knowledge to actually make currency and a lot of time

play game, farm drops.
trade drops for exalt/chaos orbs.
trade exalt/chaos orbs/drops for forum gold.

easiest way to is rush to act 8 aqueducts, farm the shit out of it and collect all rares and tabby cards.
sell tabulas for like 1.5k each and like chaos recipe all the rares you find. then stop playing after the night is over as prices will tank overnight.

game's complex man. This will be my 3rd season and i still don't fully understand how to optimize end game, run quickly at start, and still crutch on published builds.

Set oyur expectations low.

Unless you just want to stand in hideout and craft / flip but even that requires game knowledge and experience.

I most my my FG after I have invested into a decent build. I make very little in first week or two as its better to get a decent build.

The game is complicated but don't let these people discourage you. I figured it out in one league with a build i made myself. Took my 3 different characters to finally get it but it was satisfying.

So if you follow someones premade build you should be fine.
