i like the traditional glass cannon bowazon builds from back in the day. but i made a bowazon and she isnt quite the priority right now for my gear needs. trying to do one toon at a time but i figured id gather the mavina set and level her and use that for now. anyone have any suggestions on stats/skills when using full mavinas? im used to multi/guided/valk/crit/penetrate style build.

My only advice is don't do it.

If you insist on doing it, go Frost.

Mavina set is made for Freezing Arrow. It does good damage. But cold immunes will be an issue in hell. The other problem is that skill uses a ton of mana when combined with fast attack speed. It's hard to keep up even with potions.

im starting to think that if i use the mavina set - using the traiditonal skill/stats is not beneficial. and im not sure i wanna try the whole freezing arrow build. can i still make a decent multi/guided bowa without the crazy end game runewords?
for example:

Valk helm, WF, cats eye or atmas, ravenfrost/bk or manald, gore riders, loh, string/nos coil/ razortail or something along those lines

strafe is a fun build, and would work much better with that set of items you listed

That set i would only consider for Freezing Arrow build. Penetrate is very effective with this skill. It will explode a line of cows like a laser hit them. For this build only add enough str and dex to wear the set, rest into vita (if you want). Freezing arrow's cold damage always hits so you don't necessarily need good attack rating. AR will only impact if your arrow hits (physical part).

Yes this will work. You don't have to use those belts though. A rare one with FHR, +str, resists, etc is also nice.
Valk helm is also not nessasary. Could use a rare helm with resists.
I'd recommend atmas amulet for hell certainly.
For body armor you can just wear Smoke. You're going to need the resists badly. Or find some resist charms.
Strafe is my skill of choice and my recommendations are based on that.

Do not neglect your merc. You need him/her. Give them the best gear you can. Your protection is secondary (unless HC).
