At least they do some balance patches on the game, which is more than I thought they would do post release. WC3r was still a disaster though.

They have a lot of work to do to fix the server and most of the bugs. But they knew that before pushing the game for early release. Following their pattern of logic they might press for a ladder before the game is quite ready. For better or worse i think optimistically: 1 month. But could be up to 6 months. This is just my guess. Nothing official.

If it takes longer than that, it may never happen.

I'd bet within 6 months

despite the shit state of servers, d2r way more popular than wc3r. blizz might be incentivized to support it with more live content and updates

d2r is not bad, server is the problem. unlike the shit show known as wc3r, which fucked up in every level.
