So, I've been playing for a long time and I've always hated act 3. When ever I do it, I always get lost and have to backtrack to find all the pieces. I always end up discovering the entire map before finding them all. I also hardly get any way points.

What's the trick to getting past act 3 without being rushed? Is there a trick at all or does everyone struggle?

I would much rather to act 2 ten times in a row than do act 3 once.

best bet is using a sorceress for teleport, pally for vigor/charge, barb for leap/leap attack, or sin with burst of speed ( i dont count dudu fearl rage as 'fast' movement, becuase you have to attack shit to get it going, and keep it going often...)


act 3 is a pile of shit. map design is what really makes it awful - even though it's really only 'one more' item more complicated then act 2 (not counting cube.)

Look into diablo 2 speed running guides. There is a logic to the jungles. Mrllamasc is very popular and has some YouTube guides. Those are all I've seen and while I'm still confused it clarifies some of the things enough that while you're still lost... you know why you're lost... and the options to explore feel finite. I'm sure other guides exist if you look for them

Well, at least I'm not the only one that struggles and hates it so much. I do wish that I was doing it all wrong all along and there was a simple trick to figuring out the map.

Kill council
Leave game.
Join a baal run game.
Run though trav and go down open stairs.
Run and get Durance lvl 2 wp.
Leave game.
Create your new game.
Take Durance wp.
Kill Meph.
Go to A4.
