Hi, I'm building a light sorc and wondering if 200 FCR would be worth it. I'm optimizing towards clearing chaos in players 8.

My current setup is
Griffon
Um'd Vmagi (I can't afford CoH or enigma, so my only armor options are Vmagi or Smoke)
Eschutas
Maras
Spirit
Chancies
Arachs
Soj x2
Wartravs
Typical infinity merc

However, by swapping a few parts I could reach 200 fcr and lose 20% light damage from eschutas, +1 skill and 40% mf (20 fcr amy over Maras, Hoto over Eschutas for the resists, Trangs/Mages over Chancies and 1 fcr ring over soj).

Alternatively, I could just go Smoke and have more defense vs missiles and 86 FHR. Or something else?

Is 200 fcr on PvE light sorc ever worth it?

Recently tried 200fcr. The frame speed is fun and trippy but probably not needed for pvm p8 CS runs. You will, however, need crescent moon on p8

Crescent moon? Never heard of it before. I did some research, seems super interesting. Why do you say I need it for player 8 chaos specifically? If I can reach breakpoints with it would it be efficient overall?

117fcr is stronger

I think I'll go 117 fcr with crescent moon and vmagi

Yeah for p8 CS and Baals you will break light immunities but sometimes remaining resistances are high and it can really take the sexy out of light kill speed.

I think 117 and cmoon is great, I ran my sp sorc on p8 CS like that til level 95 and had a blast. You can try eachutas or hoto and you'll see the run times go up

Look into swapcasting. Generally 200 FCR is nonsensicial.

and merc must have Crow Caw, or Rare Sacred Armor x2 Shael :D

Sorry to quote you like that, I'm having a lot of success with Crescent Moon and wondering why its not the most popular weapon for endgame Lite sorc? Does it hit harder than Eschutas against everything or just high LR mobs? Besides, it got me thinking, wouldn't a 6x5/5 lite facet be better?

I'm not sure? I lurked in the pvm forum here for years and for the most part everyone plays HC p8. That's where I first saw cmoon on lite sorc and I was like no way it's better, however, after trying it was clearly better. As for facets, they might be better if you can hit 117fcr with 6 sockets. Didn't have the luxury because it's hard to get 1 lite facet let alone 6x -5's heh
