I can't say I know much more than provided in the article, but is this really that bad? The article you linked said he started working on D3 after it had already been released. Sounds like he just worked on extra content for the game after it's release, not actually fundamental in the development of D3

well d3 only got worse as it got older. the auction house was lame but, but the gameplay was pretty decent with inferno actually being difficult at launch.

This guy started working on D3 after it was released, so hopefully he's well aware of the problems that held the game back and can help prevent it for D4.

But as we all know, literally anyone could be named lead dev and everyone would cry about it no matter what lmao
