Thank you for your reply. I guess my question would be third party licence sellers, are they reputable and to be trusted?
I've had success using these third party product key sellers, especially if they're advertised on these YouTube videos as their sponsor. I've used them 2-3 times for Win10 Pro and no issues so far.
Also, it needs some detailed explanation/expansion on this Win7 key convert to Win10 onto another computer. When converting Win7 to Win10 and then immediately transferring to another device, I wouldn't consider it legal. Especially from a laptop, as those are often OEM licenses which means it's supposed to be used once to that device it was originally on. There are times where Microsoft does not enforce this, hence you can get away with it. A Win7 key used on a device, and then upgraded to Win10 should be for the sole purpose of that device. Often MS will do the customer a favor and allow that upgraded Win10 to transfer onto another device. But saying it's legal or the right thing to do, is not something I share the same opinion.
For example, these used laptop re-sellers on eBay (I purchased a few Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen3 in particular), they mention it doesn't come with the Windows product key, because they probably took the Win7 converted to Win10, and used that Win10 for one of t heir own. I've purchased a few used laptops from eBay before and even after installing Windows 10 on it, I have to activate it again when it should be embedded into the motherboard (hence how they track/manage/verify it to only one device).
I've had one laptop where I purchased and activated a OEM license on a motherboard that went dead after 2-3 weeks of using it. MS allowed me to transfer it, doing me a favor. Is it legal or proper? I don't see it that way, but nonetheless, a nice favor.
I should note that there are two types of licenses, OEM and Retail. Retail allows you to transfer it from one device to another. OEM is meant to be used once and when you purchase a computer thru Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc., they're all, or should be, OEM.
