I do believe the domestic abuse and emotional abuse probably caused him to snap.
It's no excuse, but if the genders were reversed in this situation she might have a chance of getting off with murder.

I mean flying back home then to only have her beg him to come back because she cant drive the van would absolutely set me off. think it would set anyone off

My ex girlfriend literally bit me and hit me a few times all because I asked why she had been lying to me after I caught her.

Then she started banging on the walls yelling rape loud as fuck. We lived in an apartment during this time..

Anyway, the fuzz showed up and checked me out, beat up, couple of bite marks on me, without question they took HER to jail.

Moral of the story, there is still justice in this world.
