Hello gents,
Stumped here. Have a 2 year-old USB flash drive with semi-important documents on it. Probably around 2000+ files, but only 2 GB total.
I am running on the assumption that the NAND is degrading. When I plug it into a computer, all the contents of the USB pops up, but if I try to transfer a file, it freezes up and Windows
says that the drive is unrecognizable. I can transfer off anything small, but if its going to take longer than 3 seconds to transfer, it won't work.
I have tried the basics:
-same error on multiple computers
-uninstall/reinstall drivers
-everything good said
I am quite certain it is a bad memory issues.
Do you guys know of any programs that would recover these files?
I already owned Easeus and I can recover like 5 files at a time until the USB disconnects. That would take me years.
Thanks!
Stop trying to recover the data and find a data recovery specialist
The more power you push into the drive, the faster the NAND will fail and the files gone forever.
At this point you stand a chance of recovery - the drive is likely suffering from a power rail short and can be easily fixed if done properly by a specialist.
Search on Google - vet the leads you find and get prices. This sort of job won't cost much but is possible!
