To be fair, you have to have a very high football IQ to understand Josh Gordon. His talent is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical catching, most of his skill will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Josh’s intangibles, which are deftly woven into his ability- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hue Jackson literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these skills, to realise that they’re not just incredible- they say something deep about HYPE. As a consequence people who dislike Josh Gordon truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the finesse in Josh's touchdown dance, which itself is a cryptic reference to J Gruden's Ohio epic Spider 2Y Banana. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Josh's genius hands unfold themselves on their television screens.
