Of course its before taxes. What fucking employer advertises pay after taxes? None.

Most weekends are not worked, thats a flat out lie and you know it.

8 hours a day AFTER housing and food is paid for.

Take home pay is the only number that matters, why would you even have a discussion about pay and talk about pre-taxed pay. 0 logic

i literally just got done working mon-sat for 8 months straight /w no extra pay. your most weekends work statement is just as anecdotal as mine unless you got actual numbers of who works what hours but i can tell you within the last 10 years at every single command ive been at we had people working weekends.

you can continue to spout nonsense about how the military gets paid well, and thats a great opinion but the facts are the military is severely lacking in recruitment and has been since around 2018 with many factors in play:

1. obese mother fuckers
2. trash pay vs workload
3. mindset of the differing generations within the force

The work load vs the pay does not add up.

lets not even get into the other life destroying factors that haunt the military:

1. Record breaking suicides
2. sky high divorce rates

You are talking about someone entry level straight out of highschool. Of course the pay is not going to be high for them.
Thats why I looked at a mid career pay first but you focus on the lowest end of the spectrum expecting them to be rich?
$7000 a month for someone with no college and is 30 years old is damn good.
Way above the average salary in this country.
Also there are no shortages in recruiting. I don't know what the fuck you are talking about. The Army hit its exact goal in 2020.

im starting to think you aren't even in the military tbh.

who do you think the majority of the military is? Ill give you a hint; it isnt the 10+ year E-7's "middle spectrum" that you seem to focus on.

They lowered the 2020 goal from all previous years so they could say they "hit the goal" lol

look at the numbers.

2020 goal literally 20% lower than 2018's goal. They aren't even keeping up with the amount of people retiring each year.

Mid career mother fucker, not middle spectrum dumbass. Most people in the military are entry level and get out after their first contract to get paid to go to college.
If you make the military a career its damn good pay. Thats the bottom line. This isnt even considering officer or warrant officer pay with is significantly higher than enlisted.
The most common grade is E-4. I am currently an E-4 and I get over 4700 in my bank account a month stationed at Fort Lewis.
This is the 4th lowest rank in the military and you get it automatically after 2 years.

10 year is middle of 20 hur dur, your logic is completely ass backwards considering you used an e7 at 10 for an example when the force still has plenty of e5's at 10 years. middle of the "career" based on time frame literally means jack shit

sus af, give an example of e7 10 years at fort lewis, now admitting to being an e-4 making almost half the pay he used as an example on why the military gets paid fairly.

from someone who does financial support for junior troops on an almost DAILY basis, i can tell you; you are completely fucking wrong about whatever you are attempting to prove with your original statement.

P.S E-4 isn't automatic for every branch, you are thinking E-3

and for the army it isn't 2 years from joining you are an E-4, another weird way to try to prove a point. Takes on avg 3+ years

like i said, i don't even think your in the military.
