It's always the people who beat/abuse their wives/children/pets over American football, or some other equally shitty sport, who say stuff like this.

Nice, I hope you make these strange assumptions/associations frequently and loudly.

Ep 5 was great!

Episode 6 was the best so far.

Sad that Barney Harris is being recast, but hopefully the new actor will pick up Mat without too many issues.

Hyped as hell for the next two episodes.

Eh.. Better but still not good. Super annoying that they are not only changing characters so much but also can't do stuff for time reasons but also have the time to invent useless scenes and pull in book 8 character development into season 1.

Also the meaningless changes that don't save time or mean anything for the characters are also annoying.

At least the episode didn't have plot holes and robotic writing like previous episodes.

Although looking at the writer and director for this episode and the previous ones, maybe not that big of a surprise that it is so much better. Should've had these two do the entire series.

It's a definitely feeling a bit rushed, but I didn't expect that much out of the first season with how much they have to shove down everyone's throats to build the world to new comers.

I'm okay with most of the changes so far. Rewriting it for TV definitely needed to happen, and them having the complete story finished should hopefully allow for it to be pretty smooth and avoid a GoT shitshow.

It kind of did exist in the book, it just wasn't pushed as romantic... And stopped when they stopped being novices.

I assume your talking about “pillow pals” or whatever it was referred to. Did the book actually say that’s what that was?

Even so I’m so disappointed with this show, as a long term fan. I totally understand changing things to speed the show up or make certain parts more entertaining but I just don’t like it, personally.

I’ll be shocked if season 2 actually airs

Yes, the "pillow pals or whatever" is definitely a girl x girl relationship. However the show did it extremely incorrectly. The show made it explicitly a romantic lesbian relationship. Whereas in the books it's heavily implied that sexuality doesn't at all matter in randland and pillow friends are just something that novices do to comfort eachother during the hardest parts of their training. It doesn't have the same kind of social taboo as real life because sexuality isn't wrong in randland.

Moiraine definitely loves Thom and Siuan loves that old general dude. Making Moiraine and Siuan into a romantic thing kind of does the opposite of what the books were trying to do. Which is to remove the taboo from the subject.

Why wouldn't it air? They are already half way through filming season 2 and season 1 has been doing huge numbers for them. It's one of their biggest releases so far, and will remain the fantasy flagship until this insane record breaking budget, LotR show arrives.

As you said, you personally don't like it, that's a you problem. I haven't read any of the books and I'm really enjoying the show.
