Can you save money on protein powder by jus mixing your own amino?

Not worth it. You'd want full spectrum amino acids and that'd be very complicated to do. I'd rather go with a complete protein such as whey or an essential amino acid supplement. For muscle building purposes either of those is preferable.

Whey bothers my stomach. Even the ultra pure stuff

Pea protein, egg whites, milk do as well


If I have a bcaa product with 2.5 grams of aminos. Say I take 4 servings. Can I count that as 10 grams of protein toward my total?
Is there a point at which it isn't a diverse enough profile? Like taking 10 servings , would it be equivalent to 25 grams of protein

as long as your BCAAs have a 2:1:1 ratio that's all that matters. I also presume buying raw powders and trying to mix your own will not be cost effective when you factor in trying to flavor them.

I would prefer using EAAs then, that way you know you have a full spectrum. BCAAs are not complete protein so it's hard to tell. I don't advise sipping on BCAAs multiple times per day either, because at some point amino acids can compete for absorption. If your goal is to replace a protein powder, look for EAA products imo.

The issue was never how much protein you can absorb. If you eat 150 grams of protein for breakfast your body is going to use it

The issue was will it all be used for muscle repair/growth and is it optimal ? I forget the # but for best protein synthesis it is more beneficial to eat 3-4 protein feedings spaced out than 1 large one
