No. The old d2 will still have the ladder reset every 6 months like they have now. They will keep the games completely separate and the old servers still up.

I’m guessing only bots and old rich players on non ladder will play on them though

maybe some of those who fail to bot / cheat in d2r will return to d2 who knows

but i wouldn t call and count them as " players " anyway
