I made like 10K gc in one day one time, a long long time ago.

Early ladder runes and degenerate gambling.

Hitting high value games after resets and not buying things after.

Path of Exile if you farm it out and get a few exalts in the first few days you can make a few thousand easily. Then after you've geared your character if you are really efficient and grind you can still make at least a few exalts an hour and sell them for several hundred fg.

At the highest levels you can make 100 exalts an hour and sell them for hundreds of fg each.

Having no life helps
