Hey man I feel for you. When I got badly injured with my heavy farmer's walk, that injury was one of multiple I had to go through.

The recovery is extremely slow and you have to be extra careful.

I can tell you I've regained about 80% of my ankle mobility after a few years and maybe another 10% as years went on. I'm not back 100% but I'm not far in terms of flexibility. The main issue is how fragile it feels...pretty much for the rest of your life it seems. I tried doing weighted calf raises many years later and felt it pretty bad. At most I can do lots of reps of bodyweight calf raises, but that's about as far as I'm willing to push it.

I hope your recovery goes better than mine.

I'm sorry to hear that, Burns. That's a big blow to my optimism, too

Saw the surgeon who put me under the knife on Tuesday, 2 days ago. Everything looked as good as it possibly could. I get to start practicing in a shoe in 3 weeks.

Went to the gym yesterday, they said I should bicycle and I could do any upper body lifts that don't need a leg to stand on. I'm off to bike again this morning.

monday - chest/tris
tuesday - back/bis
wednesday - shoulders/traps
thu - ???
fri - ???

weekends - no

how do I proceed if I wanna life every weekday, mon-fri? Thu back/bis again, and then Friday chest/tris? I say that because I wanna keep some rest between shoulder day and chest day.
Obviously can't do leg day. Its a shame, but I do use the stationary bike sometimes. This week I've been too gassed after lifting but I biked twice last week. Ideally, I would bike 20-30 min after every workout!

edit: I warmed up with "battle ropes" today those are way harder than they look Oo

Finished another week of some good lifting sessions.
Yesterday in rehab I stood up on two legs, an upright bipedal locomoting creature. No boot. Swayed back and forth onto my leg.

Yikes

before the surgery they told me it'd be about 8 weeks til i'm back to work
now its "oh its an insertional rupture so we gotta proceed very conservatively"
didn't you know that going into it? you did 2 different series of imagings, didn't you know it was insertional? Its been 12 weeks and I just now stood up on my own two legs?
