Bots can't be stopped. Simple. No buts and ifs.
So, make each cd keys $100.
At least that will deter some plebs from mass botting like how it is now with $10/key.
It won't fully deter everyone but at least it will reduce the numbers by 80%

this is marketing suicide.
just deal with the bots like every other game does or nut up and hire a team for under 1/16th your profits each quarter. the number of copies they sell greatly outweighs the cost involved to hire a team to manage the servers. its on modern bnet now so its not like they cant have a team for multiple games that manages these issues.
Botting exists everywhere theres profit potential in a game. it doesnt matter what game either, if theres a market that allows you to make cash trades legally or otherwise, theres a bot for that. and the programmer thats making it doesnt give a fuck about the cost of the game, hes making a killing on his bots plus his 100k+/job. $100 is nothing, even a jobless idiot could make that in a day without much effort. Banning an ip is pointless, not to mention could effect other users that share that ip. captcha would drive most back to classic d2. All the solutions ive seen so far are flawed in some way.
So, please tell me how to deal with bots.
