Model : X555LD
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510 CPU @ 2.00 GHz, 2601 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Pr...
Ram : 8
Harddrive - Original(1TB HDD) --> I replaced it with 256GB SSD

I have been using it since 2015-2016, It has gotten quite slow if i use it for let's say play games like Path of Exile, it lags to the level which makes it impossible for a person to play.

My question is if it is possible to fix it(i feel if i replace the ram it would do the trick) but also if it's worth to fix it since it is 5-6+ years old.

Before u gonna add ram,
Verify ur ram usage % + cpu when you opening poe etc,
(Via task manager or performance monitor)
Btw gpu model? Gt 820m?
Did u check if u have a free slot?
U could check disk also with crystal disk info for sectors
But it is an old laptop with old specs , dont forget it m8b, add a ram will helps a bit

Doubt ram is your problem here but certainly check your ram usage in resource manager to see if you're peaking. If you are then it's quite possible that you have a lot of programs running in the background that might be unnecessary.

My advice would be to get a new PC. That PC has done it's time and needs to be put to rest.

"You can upgrade your ASUS X555LD Laptop to up to a maximum memory capacity of 12GB Memory."

Backup what you want and reformat with win7 or 10 (preference). Max out your memory and it'll run like brand new as long as there's nothing wrong with your hardware.

I use these programs to speed shit up.

Analyze your hardware with this.
