You are talking about the release of D3, which was a catastrophe. Just compare the first d2...they know it's also a failure and now we have the final good game after so many patches. Funny you are talking about marketing techiques... I suppose d2r is not one of them

I can’t remember anything about the diablo two classic on release that made me so mad I didn’t want to play the game it worked pretty well and as an entry level player I didn’t even know about those bugs till years and years and years later, I can remember when Diablo three came out and hordes of people came running right back to the point where I didn’t even want to consider buying the game since so many people were telling me it was terrible do you see what I’m saying? I know it’s very subtle difference

I was one of the hold outs too, Over in Diablo one I wanted to finally get level 50 as I was working on my level 49 and less and less people were around to play with and nobody came back from Diablo two

You fail to understand that when this game was released it was a success.

D2 didnt get patched into being good it was good to begin with.

D3 was trash at launch and is still trash.

Big difference bud. And yes D2R is a marketing ploy. but its one weve been waiting for since long before remasters became popular. No one will ever want D3 remastered, its a bad system that has no replayability.

No one is asking a remake for a game from 2012, who would ask for that? All of you have aged a lot, and cannot see the difference when you were teenagers / young adults to now with d3. Of course d2 > d3 but people are stupid and blind, they cannot accept d3 has good things and at least, more than one will be in your favorite game, d2R

but alot of people are asking to change the actual remake into precisely that...

Guess we will have to wait, guessing it is going to be similar to the mod.

Guessing blizz has been doing some research into D2 mod games that have interesting things that people like and going to implement these without causing bugs.

PoE when that came out was basically D2.5 with Final Fantasy skills, now it is just as popular (if not more) than D2 or D3 (srry to bring up a sore point).

Killing HC D in inferno while copying kripparians barb and then making thousands off the AH and being actually able to sell your gear...
it was really challenging but rewarding.
D3 now is fairly land for console gamers.

RMAH just like d2jsp is only good for people who want to make money, not a good feature for gameplay. Inferno was crap, also those enrage timers. D3 now is more playable than before. People keep saying it's easy to gear, but guess what? they are at the bottom of the leaderboards with that "easy to gear" method. Glad you hate console gamers, I don't know if you have read d2r news, but there will be cross progression

this is what i thought initially, almost every mod feature seems to be in, d3 isnt even a factor, im willing to bet quite a few will come over then go back to what they prefer
hoping they cant do much dmg with report function either from spite or out of anger at our pvp system
