I don't see this happening as the current options are for people who have put Money into the site. I feel a FG option would be the opposite direction the site has evolved into. As I hope for future options like Traveling forums and whatnot I prefer the current system the way it is. If a change was to happen I could see it in a manner of Customers making a purchase not necessarily trading forum gold.

Maybe it is time to allow users to purchase Fg for other users accounts, kind of like a Gift Card. This idea could enable an increase in inbox size while still maintaining the regulations and ideas that have already been set up for the current pm system options.

The downside to this is people would not necessarily Purchase forum gold to send FG to a user to enable the pm upgrade. Gifting a Purchase, better yet to call it Giving someone a d2jsp Giftcard, would give those who don't Purchase fg an incentive to get gift cards, thus establishing the potential for more sales, upgrades, status, etc, etc, etc.

Enabling GiftCards would give the site the option to have seasonal sales, focus points, etc. The GiftCards could be something only certain users have access to thus helping keep the moderation and quality of it easier to maintain.

Issue is that someone else is getting the fg (which may not even be known to them as you suggested).
What if the gifted user spends the fg, then the donator decides to dispute the charge?

There is no point in having a discussion, youre just going to get hit by a wall of text.

Voted no anyways, pm space is easy to manage.

its hard for me to manage since i have over 700k in items and some of the trade messages ive saved as archive if there ever is a need for a s/a and they require u to show pms etc

i often get 10-15 inbox space filled at a time when ppl are sending me fg
maybe if they excluded receiving fg as a inbox space it would be easier

I do think that receiving fg should not be counted as a PM in terms of space in the inbox, but that you receive the notification in PM format. I dont like the disabling the gold function.
