Good to hear man.

I’ve just had a lot of irl friends or military guys in general, ask to work out with me. One week would pass and they would completely quit. I would get “yeah man I’m too sore, oh yeah today is my rest day, nah not today man, today is cheat day.”

As long as you keep pushing, even when I got deployed they shoved us in what’s called “Camp Covid” I was not able to use the gym for weeks but I managed to do calisthenics in my 5x5 “room” box.

Are you looking to tone ? Or bulk up.

All free weight exercises is a good place to start. Since they tend to develop more than just the muscle you are working out on. Machines are really great for isolating muscles.

I cannot stress this enough, watch and manage what you are putting into your body. Don’t feel like you earned a whopper meal after a nice work out. A good diet will drastically increase your muscle growth and recovery. Judging by you height / weight you are a bit on the heavy side? You don’t need intense workouts to lose that weight, just keep a calorie deficiency and pump. Another thing you can do is write down your weight at the end of the week. Putting something on paper and seeing the results in front of you is a HUGE motivation.

I don’t have much time during the day spend about 30 min the gym. I typically superset my way through two muscle groups, 3 days a week at the gym.

W.e work out ur doing concentrate on form and make sure it’s 100%, most ppl r friendly don’t feel weird about asking someone if ur doing it right.
Also the speed you do ur reps and how long u take in between sets and exercises is important, try not to take breaks longer than 1.5 min if ur a beginner but ideally I think it should be about 45 secs.

Try YouTube channels at athlean-x and Chris heria
They’re both really good imo

Don’t be too hard on urself make sure u have rest days and don’t over do it or it will hurt u and ofc stick to it
