Nay, please. Unless you MUST do it, which is never the case.

More prone to getting killed by static electricity.

With components exposed, it is more prone to ESD.

people don't share the pics of the wall mounts that dont work out

cable management can be complicated for a lot of people for starters

especially if its meant to look clean

A regular pc looks like shit if people don't care. I don't think cable management is a case for not attempting it. It's purly looks and if that's what you want go for it.

I don't think we're assuming the op is a retard and can't find the studs to first attach a good mounting base. I am also under the assumption the entire thing will be covered eventually by an acrylic case with simple drilled holes with airflow.

If left open yes obviously your components are subject to additional dust it wouldn't have been otherwise.

cables hanging under something displayed like a piece of art is just lazy installation

and most people are not capable of routing cables through walls, moving electrical hook ups etc, to make it look good

my standards are just higher

Okay but that has nothing to do with anything. You having a higher standard of cable management does not make mounting a PC to a wall a "a very bad idea".

If you gave an explanation with evidence that suggested that mounting it to the wall statistically results in a higher rate of component failure okay your "very bad idea" comment might make sense.
