Have this issue when clients provide an export of their data from quickbooks, the date in m/d/y is not being recognized as number value or date in excel.

I have tried to find and replace the year value, text to coloumns to dmy.

what is the easiest way to fix this??

Have you tried to alter save preferences?

Should be in Account Settings --> Advanced --> Other preferences --> click on the formats you want --> Save

not able to get an updated report from the client on this as they have made their own modifications after they had exported.

resolved, found a solution!

thanks!!

basically just used text to columns, separated the dates since the spacing and format is uniform, convert each individual coloumns to number, use (date) function to create actual date in format and good to go
