What does hashrate mean? Never tried mining before.

think of it like fps for mining

it's a number that quantifies the work the gpu is doing to mine on the blockchain

typically a person mines as part of a pool, meaning that you combine your effort with a bunch of other people in order to find/get lucky/mine coins, this number shows how much of the work you are doing, to which you get paid for what you contributed


mining is quite simple if you are using a single gpu rig, basically get yourself a wallet, get a miner according to your OS/GPU and mine to that wallet address, i'm using ethminer with the 1080ti, it was quite easy to use

your new 3070 could pay it forward and even put you in the black for owning it, just takes a little time
