Yeah 6900xt should last a pretty long while. You were lucky to even have options to choose from in store lol.

Yea true

However upgrading from 1080ti to 3070 wouldn’t have been enough upgrade to warrant the cost, also I was looking for a minimum of either 6800 xt or 3080, both of which they closed back orders on

Tbh every time I load this computer up I’m still blown away that I have a 6900 xt rn haha

I assume it is the founder's edition right? Not the custom cards.

Be like shaft, use bots to buy out gpus

But don't sell it, open it up and use it to enjoy the sound of coil whining

What does hashrate mean? Never tried mining before.

think of it like fps for mining

it's a number that quantifies the work the gpu is doing to mine on the blockchain

typically a person mines as part of a pool, meaning that you combine your effort with a bunch of other people in order to find/get lucky/mine coins, this number shows how much of the work you are doing, to which you get paid for what you contributed

mining is quite simple if you are using a single gpu rig, basically get yourself a wallet, get a miner according to your OS/GPU and mine to that wallet address, i'm using ethminer with the 1080ti, it was quite easy to use

your new 3070 could pay it forward and even put you in the black for owning it, just takes a little time

Gotcha, thanks.
Now wondering whether the GPU degradation/electricity fee will be justified, how the profit margin would be.
