People knock the Sixers for "the process" and being the face of NBA tanking. They forced the NBA to literally change their rules, admittedly because of the 76ers extreme approach under Hinkie who exploited a hole in their system (legally).
With that said....people also don't realize the Lakers had a run where they had insanely high draft picks as well for a long period of time. Meanwhile, the Lakers were trying to put a decent team together but were so bad they were literally getting the same type of picks as the tanking Sixers
From 2014 through 2019 the Lakers drafted in the lottery: 7, 2, 2, 2, 4.
From 2014 through 2019 the 76ers drafted in the lottery: 3, 3, 1, 1, 10.
Difference is, 2 of those picks for the 76ers are still in Philly and are both All-NBA franchise pieces, while the Lakers players are all elsewhere finding success (granted they did get AD in return in a trade).
Had LeBron never gone to the Lakers, they'd be fucked (AD would have never wanted to go there). Lakers are lucky they're a big time franchise in a prime location which made LeBron want to go there, otherwise their front office would have butchered a great stretch of draft pick position.
