Was helping a buddy install a new system he picked up. He's running 2 6x9 Kicker CS models I'm the doors, plus 2 4x6 CS models in the dash and 2 behind the rear seat.

The vehicle is a 94 Chevrolet pickup, new factory head unit. Installed a convertor to add RCA cables. We put in a single channel (at the recommendation of the store owner) 1000watt Kenwood DACD5101 Amp to cover the power distribution for the 6x9s and he 2 rear 4x6.
Upon powering up the system the front speakers wired directly to the stereo seem to work fine. The 6x9s and 4x6 ran from the Amp though seem to have absolutely mid or high end tone. When I turn the bass completely down at the amp these speakers appear to put out no sound at all. I unhooked the 2 4x6 to see if we were just running to much from a single channel, we gained absolutely no change. I don't know enough about the behind the curtain specifics, but I'm wondering if the Amp is designed purely for subwoofer use?

Also there is a prefabbed woofer with built in 120watt Amp behind the seat, this does share a remote wire I chained together with the other Amp, and the RCA also has a splitter in it to distribute to both amps. Idk if this matters as I've done it before with completely success, but wanted to give as much information as possible.

Wow no... never use a monoblock on door speakers... Get yourself a 2 channel or 4 channel and do it right. The fact you're running a monoblock to door speakers probably means theres tons of other issues with the install... Get a 4 channel and a lc2i and call it a day.

that amp I listed is a 5 channel so itll run 4 door speakers just fine and an additional 600w subwoofer down the road if you desire... the AC lc2i is a sweet converter, don't cheap out on this and buy a crappy $25 one from walmart.

I appreciate the response. I finally got sorted out the other day. I was under 5he assumption mono was only for subs. Dude at the shop was obviously an idiot.
