D2 was running fine yesterday today it will only load in windowed mode
Anyone know how to fix this ? Tried running as admin and running the compatibility to find the issue nothing fixes it.

What error msg u get?

At first it said error 25 something about directx
Now it just says the game won’t load
But windowed mode works I just hate playing that way

Alt + enter might help to change games mode, could help if you haven't tried yet maybe.

Did you try compatibility mode?

To resolve this error, you can:

Run the game on Windowed Mode

• Right-click the Diablo II icon and click Properties
  
• Click the Shortcut tab
  
• Add -w to the end of the Target. For example: "C:\DiabloII\Diablo II.exe" -w

Run the game in Administrator Mode

This is the best way to fix the issue.

Did some digging. If all else fails

-w -nofixaspect typing this in the taget that archive suggested.
This will allow you maximize the window screen. It isn't 100% what you are looking for however maybe it will suffice.

Turns out I just needed to update the drivers. Working fine again.
