My question is, does it matter? The graphics are an abomination and mockery of the original

If you prefer original graphics you can press G and play with old graphics...

In my opinion:
The graphics for starcraft and warcraft both made the games look better but feel like the originals.

this gigantic turd is a cash grab, probably made in China as cheaply as possible

On the SC1 remaster when you switch to the original graphics your resolution also gets smaller (wen't back to the original resolution).
If they allow people on to have a higher res with the new graphics on D2R well then I hope they allow people to have a higher res with the original graphics on D2R as well.

I'd say very high chances available resolutions will be identical.
Sounds painful to code a realtime resolution switcher when you press the classic|modern button.

Not really, it already exists in video settings. The click to change resolution calls a function. Would be simple to call the same function on the legacy/res switcher

The code is there, but changing the res from the options isn't exactly the same environement, and i can already smell the crashes.
Like, when in the options, there are some things you cannot do, and if you do one of those, the code might not handle it, hence the extra required code.
But as an asm coder, i tend to be paranoid, so you may be right.
Thanks for all you've done for the shared stash BTW, just checked your blizz topic, i'm amazed by the quantity of positive replies, that's definitely encouraging.

Damn asm, is this bit shifting coding still used? But more on microcontrollers or where you coding?

Bit shifting just an aspect of asm programming, but yeah, it's barely used anymore, and that's a shame.
It has become a hobby now, but i used to code a pretty wide variety of things.

Like what things? I only remember using it for microcontrollers but thats more then 10years ago :)
