Does ee on my armor affect my meele damage?

I'm wearing a 90ee armor. Does this make me do more damage with my sword or does the ee on my armor just give the armor defense?

Thanks again

Also, if it doesn't add damage to my sword, what are best stats on armor to look for to give me best sword damage for armor and charms? Bc I know we from charms doesn't add sword damage

Would dexterity on a charm be best for more damage or should I look for that critical hit thing. Sorry very noobie here

Basics:

Enhanced Effect (EE) only helps the item it is on: i.e. Weapon (Dmg) / Armor (Def) / Cast (Dmg) / Heal (Heal)
Stat (i.e. Str & Dex) only increases the damage of the weapon type (more on this later)
Stat (i.e. Vit & Int) increases your Hit & Mana pools (only hard points, not stats from items), Vit (more Physical Def) / Int (more Magical Def) & for every 25 points +1 Regen.

Weapons have Ratios based on Strength or Dex, the higher number of the two adds more damage:

Sword = 75str/25dex ratio i.e. Strength
Club = 90str/10dex ratio i.e. Strength
Dagger = 10str/90dex ratio i.e. Dexterity
ETC.

For swords you should be using a strength charm and be statting either vita or strength.
For your armor, using an EE armor will provide significant amounts of defense, the other option is again strength.

Most of us agree for solo, EE Leather/scale/chain/plate is preferred over a strength armor.
When using monk/ninja it's a bit more split but lets not get into that seeing you arn't there yet.

the guide which i generally guide people to: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=82660445&f=272
Also just simply puts it as:

Armor- enhanced effect > strength/dexterity

(meaning EE is better than strength or dex)
