the new d4 quarterly update is kinda cool an all with how they make the sounds for the game

but then they show the actual gameplay with the sound effects...annnd it's just d3 still xD

Seeing to how D4 is open world and an MMO, I really don't see how we can compare it to D3.

People act like D3 is a super old game and something that should be left in history. No. D3's graphic from before is completely fine to use if it were still very active today. The only reason why D4 is being made is because D3 failed horribly. If D3 was actually successful with a healthy amount of active players in it, then there wouldn't be D4 for a very long time. Instead, they would continue to bring in more D3 expansions. So of course the graphic for D4 would still be on par with D3 but don't let that fool you. Just like how we truly loved the graphic of D3 when it was first introduced with gameplays, previews, and hypes, the actual quality of the game was lame. So forget the graphic of D4, I hope they don't mess this one up to the point where more than half the population quit after only 3 months.

and d3 graphics were bad and cartoony right from the start...never felt like a diablo game...just some new game they made that they called diablo
i always said they shoulda called it rift runner or some cringe name like that but obviously they wouldnt sell nearly the amount but at least they woulda been honest

And? WoW is 17 years old. Still running today due to how successful it was/still is since launch. My logic is correct by this fact alone. It's completely normal in the gaming industry to dump failed games and release a new one later. Just like how FFXIV was a failure at launch, they quickly dumped it, revamped the entire game within a month or two, and released what you see today called FFXIV: Realm's Reborn. It's one of the most popular game now. It's all just business. Why do you think Hollywood remake movies, continue finished series after a long period of time? It's literally the same thing. That's where the money is. D3 failed terribly and left a hole that can't be fixed so the chances of it coming back alive were slim to none. There was no other way to continue the Diablo series without releasing D4 simply because of that reason alone.

comparing a game to a monthly subscription fee to a game w/o one is a bit of a stretch unless youre comparing graphics then i would agree wow and d3 graphics are both very cartoony lol

i think the devs are happy and have been happy for a long time with the current iteration of d3 and it was from a financial standpoint a overwhelming success which is why they are making not only d4 but some wack mobile diablo game

just so happens d4 looks like d3 still even after almost a decade which is rather unfortunate imo

but how they got to this point with d4 doesnt really matter to me as much...i just dont have high hopes for a game that looks very comparable to a shitty one hahaha
