Its more than just visually its the pace of the game and how the character progresses and how you get better items etc.
ya after diablo2/gauntlet legends there were a billion games like it so many even from baldurs gate series alone had liek 10 games torchlight even but not the same graphics and once Diablo 3 came out the way the spells were so simplistic and the pace of the game was just spam click kill waves of enemies thats exactlyu what diablo 3 was a garbage hack n slash not even an rpg and the way Diablo 4 looks the bastardization of the genre is infected into the game with boring different skinned abilities and crush everything type of gameplay.
Diablo 2 hell was insanely hard thats the point. In Baldurs gate you werent going to run into a horde of physical immunes that completely fucks your melee character cuz the game is too simple. Even diablo 3 bastardized the game play too much. Diablo 4 will likely follow the same route and I can go through all 3 difficulties mashing on my right click button. That isnt fun; There is nothing that is as good as Diablo 2. The genre has been too bastardized I think for Diablo 4 to let itself be difficult enough to change it from a hack n slash baldurs gate style into the true rpg and item grind that is the greatest rpg in Diablo 2
I liked BG visual style, it was really good, not for Diablo ofc, but for classic medieval setting. Combat model is super useless there, ye.
Well I don't think D4 will even has difficulties in a classic manner of previous Diablo games, if you followed the news you probably noticed it is a mmo style game now.
