I've been dieting for about a month now and I'm down 20 lbs. Anybody know why my clothes are getting tighter if I'm losing weight. I haven't been doing much in terms of exercise just like 20 or so crunches and 20 or so push ups every other day.

Starting: 6'4" 356.6 lbs
Current 6'4" 336.6 lbs

No spam or attacks please. Just looking for helpful advice.

Could be this. What's an example of what you used to eat vs what you're eating currently on your diet?

Could be eating more sodium than normal without realizing it, which can cause increased water retention.

Could be you're eating more carbs than normal, which can also cause increased water retention.

Are you drinking enough water? As ironic as it sounds, drinking more water helps with water retention.

Could try a Magnesium supplement.

If you're able to, try mixing in some cardio a few days a week. Doesn't have to be drastic at first.

Depending on what your normal activity level is, even going on a 15-30 minute walk a few days a week can make a big difference starting out.

you cant exercise your way out of a bad diet, hell you can scrap it completely if you change your diet

ill even go as far as exercise is counter-productive at your weight (not healthy for your joints, etc)

Old diet was fast food every day on lunch break and fast food/carry out about 4 nights a week.

New diet is meat/mostly chicken, about a cup of steamed rice, sometimes I add in green beans or broccoli. I snack on almonds instead of fries and chips lol. Sometimes I have egg whites and sausage for breakfast. I stopped eating fried food, breads/pastas. My carbs are usually around 50 or so a day. I do need to up my water intake though.

Also I was planning on mixing cardio in soon just it's been weird with COVID so i haven't gone to a gym and it's been like 20-30 degrees out so I haven't been walking outside either. My job is 90% desk with only about 3-5k steps (according to my watch lol) depending on how busy we are.
