you know the pho dipping sauce it's yellow and u just put on ur vermicelli and such.

I followed this recipe https://drivemehungry.com/vietnamese-dipping-sauce/ and it's nothing like the one that they serve at pho. mines really dark in colour and it smells nothing like the other sauce they serve, in pho its a light smell this one is like rancid and potent.

anyone else been successful in recreating this vermicelli bowl sauce?

what i did: (made a double batch)

2/4 cup fish sauce (blue dragon fish sauce, is this one any good?)
2/4 cup sugar
2/3 cup water
4 tablespoon limejuice
4 teaspoon rice vinegar

and I left out the garlic, carrots this time to test their just garnish anyway.
