Week 2 Bridging Block
M - Squat, technique practice – 6x5 @ 160Lbs RPE 5| Bench, technique practice – 6x6 @ 165lbs RPE 5 | 1” conventional deadlift 6x5 @ 395 for RPE 6 | 3x 15 Ez bar curls
T – Wide Grip Bench 6x5 @ 215 RPE 6.5 | Front Squat 3x8 @ 175 RPE 5 | Step ups, chins ups, overhead db & Abwheel supersets
F – 1” conventional deadlift 5x6 @ 395 for RPE 6 | Pause Bench 7X4 @ 215 RPE 6.5 | Churls, chin ups, split squat, farmers walk.
Sat - Pause bench 6x6 @ 210 for RPE 7 | Front Squat 3x10 @ 140 RPE 5 | Chin ups , curls , overhead DB extension.

Note: RPE 5 means warm up weight, it could be I have significantly more than 5 more reps in the tank its just the lowest RPE ill use. Squats have all been kept very light due to knee bursities which is a historic issue for me, but I am actively trying to stretch and relieve the tight IT band causing the issue while doing light squats. I don't expect to do any squats over 350Lbs in the first 8 weeks.

That concludes the two-week bridging block. I'll do three weeks of hypertrophy or so and building up to a RPE 10 on the third week for a max effort set of 5 or so.

Investing Nothing notable. Personal savings Dec 31, 2020 462K. Personal savings Feb 8, 2021 511K. Consistent bi-weekly contributions + rebound in oil which is one of the two sectors I have noted I am trying to get above average gains from. REITS have been stagnant and if anything gone down further since Dec 31. I have no unrealized losses from REITS but they have performed below market average even with distributions reinvested and the point of picking on individual sectors is to try to beat the average market so while I have not lost money I have when you look at it from an opportunity cost perspective which is how I view all my investing (always compared to S&P average return).

Nothing notable. Savings now at $536K up from Feb 8th 511K. Continuing to ignore most turbulence and just look month over month, year over year. I remain pretty weighted heavily in value stocks. Hopefully the wife's savings are going in the same direction at relatively the same pace but I don't monitor her side of things since I know she's just indexing and don't want to be controlling. If her performance is as expected I suspect we're around our November 2021 savings goal but things will track back to the mean at some point.

Mind

The Red Knight was an amazing book with lots of tactical scenes and many enjoyable characters. The only draw back was the amount of characters. I am typically used to 5-8 points of view this was pushing 20 plus at one point.
It took me a long time to warm up to all the Christianity tossed throughout it, mostly because I don't actually know much about Christianity and I found myself googleing stuff a lot which sort of tosses you out of an immersed state.
On to the next book in the series.

Considering 100% of your savings are in the stock market, you could globally diversify to reduce home bias and risk in funds like VAPX and VFEM

Dec 462K -> Feb 8th 511K -> March 6th 536K -> April 1 571K. Not a single trade except buying more of my current positions as I get paid. I did buy about $3,500 in hobby tools so i should have a bit more saved but it is what it is. I need a hobby outside of going to the gym in the winter time.

Highlights of the last month - killed 505 x5 on the deadlift probably close to RPE 8-8.5 been doing sets of 4 @ RPE 9 (around 505) for deficit deadlifts. New DL max is probably around 625-630 if I had to wager.

Squats are fine , slowly coming back probably mid 400s after doing some sets of 5 with 355.

Bench is still poverty, 5Rep max on Sunday so ill see where I am at. Hoping for 255-260 for 5.

90% finished the next book in The Traitor Son Cycle, The Fell Sword. Great book, enjoyed even more than the first. Still lots of points of view, but I already had well established characters from the first book that carried over so it was far less confusing.
