The Berlin hard fork has a date set: april 14th, should at least speed things up and prep for full ETH 2.0 launch, it's still gonna take a while until ETH 2.0 is out though.

Cudominer has my GPU on Eth, so this makes me happy.

I'm the proud owner of $30 worth of eth right now lol

Is this a new currency? Or will it somehow modify the current one?

I'm really surprised that the amount of energy BTC mining needs is not more of a headline. As it increases i think more people are going to be critical.

It's one of the reasons I like Eth over BTC considering it needs half of the energy consumption. Actually not sure if this is true any longer, this was as of like 2019ish

Somebody cited in a video I was listening to that crypto takes about 1% of the world's power right now.

No idea if that's true, but I wouldn't be surprised with how power hungry these GPUs are and how there's farms in China and the like with millions of them running at once.

If I built a setup, I would run my rig on solar, sell excess energy back to the grid vs dealing with batteries. Use byproduct heat to keep my house warm in the winter.
